Game key distributors
One of the benefits of being a moderately big content creator are the free video games that you can grab.
Gaming companies hand out free review copies to press and content creators in hopes of getting positive coverage in return. And the threshold to be eligible for this isn’t always high. So if you plan on covering a game, check out our list of game key distribution platforms first. It might save you some cash.

About key distribution platforms #
Game key distribution is often handled through specialized online platforms. Content creators can sign up on them and link their accounts to verify their viewer counts. Once this is done you can browse all available offers and submit your interest. Some platforms will outright show how many viewers they require to be eligible while some others don’t have those.
What to look out for #
„Free game keys“ are not really free. You just pay with your coverage of the game instead of money. So choose only games that you are actually interested in and you would stream or show in a video anyway. Otherwise the burden of creating content for a product you don’t really like is not worth the ~$70 for a AAA title.
Also, don’t agree to any terms that try to control how you present the game (you should still adhere to NDAs though). If a company wants you to only speak positively about their game, they should pay for a sponsorship.
